Diddy bits are made from a high copper metal that warms when put in your horses mouth which in turn promotes salivation, acceptance, comfort and communication. We have designed the bits to be smooth, curved and soft to ensure maximum comfort is achieved in all disciplines.
The smooth curved mouth piece with the double joint creates an even pressure along the sensitive tongue.
Here at Canter Equestrian we have found out after many years of experience with horses that the comfortable horse is a happy and relaxed horse.
A relaxed and comfortable horse that is accepting of the bit is more likely to be responsive to the riders aids and not try to evade them.
That is why we have made these perfectly designed bits to ensure your horse or pony is comfortable at all times.
We have produced smaller rings and cheek pieces for small ponies on our bits as many traditional bits use large rings and cheek pieces therefore looking unsightly and heavy in the mouth of smaller ponies.
Like most English snaffle bits the primary action is the pull on the bars of the mouth. The shape of the cheeks prevents the bit from pinching the horses lips and is one of the major appeals of this bit. The double jointed mouthpiece eliminates the nutcracker effect when the bit is engaged, avoiding pressuring the tongue and roof of the mouth. Unlike a loose ring snaffle, the rings on this bit do not rotate freely but are fixed in place. The bit also tends to sit a bit more securely in the horses mouth, reducing the chance of the bit sliding sideways in the horses mouth.
This is usually thought of as a very mild bit.
The main benefit of the eggbutt shape is that the chance of the lip being pinched between the mouthpiece and bit ring is lessened.
